Payment and RBI Compliance
All online payments on Colonel Sloth are processed in accordance with the Reserve Bank of India (RBI) guidelines through secure, authorized payment gateways. By placing an order, you agree to the following terms:
1. Payment Gateways & Security
- Payments are accepted through RBI-authorized payment gateways (such as Razorpay, PayU, Paytm, CCAvenue).
- Colonel Sloth does not store any credit/debit card or net banking details on its servers.
- All transactions are processed over secure, PCI-DSS compliant systems to protect customer data.
2. Card Data & Tokenisation
- As per RBI Card Storage Ban (effective July 2022), merchants cannot store card numbers, expiry dates, or CVV details.
- Only card networks and issuing banks are permitted to store card data in a tokenized format.
- Customers may opt to save a card via tokenization for faster checkout, managed securely by their bank/payment provider.
3. Authentication & Transaction Processing
- All domestic credit/debit card transactions require mandatory Two-Factor Authentication (2FA), e.g., OTP verification plus CVV entry.
- Net Banking, UPI, and Wallet payments are processed through NPCI (National Payments Corporation of India) infrastructure, fully regulated by RBI.
- Colonel Sloth has no control over OTP failures, banking downtime, or failed authentications caused by customer banks.
4. UPI & Wallet Transactions
- UPI and prepaid wallet payments (e.g., Paytm, PhonePe, Amazon Pay) are subject to RBI regulations.
- Refunds for UPI/wallet transactions will be processed only to the same account/wallet used for the original transaction.
5. Refunds & Settlement Timelines
- Approved refunds will be processed back to the original payment method only.
- Refunds typically take 7–14 business days, depending on your bank/payment provider.
- Any delay in refund credit to your account is subject to the processing timelines of banks, card networks, or NPCI, and is beyond Colonel Sloth’s control.
6. Chargebacks & Disputes
- Customers may raise a dispute/chargeback through their issuing bank for unauthorized or failed transactions.
- In such cases, Colonel Sloth will provide proof of order confirmation, invoices, and delivery status to the payment gateway/bank.
- The final decision on a chargeback lies with the issuing bank, and Colonel Sloth will abide by such rulings.
- Colonel Sloth reserves the right to blacklist accounts involved in fraudulent or excessive chargebacks.
7. Currency & Cross-Border Transactions
- All payments are processed in Indian Rupees (INR).
- For international customers, transactions will be processed through RBI-authorized international gateways.
- Customers are responsible for any foreign exchange conversion fees, customs duties, or additional bank charges.
8. Compliance & Liability
- All transactions are governed by RBI regulations, including the Payment and Settlement Systems Act, 2007.
- Colonel Sloth and its payment partners comply with PCI-DSS data security standards and RBI mandates.
Colonel Sloth is not liable for:
- OTP or authentication failures due to customer error or bank downtime,
- Delays caused by banks, NPCI, or card networks,
- Additional charges imposed by your bank or card issuer.
